how about Original Sin

That's an interesting one! It's about two things. First, it's about the Ancients' decisions during the war with the Wraith -- their decision to create the Asurans, their decision to bring humans from Earth during the last days of the war, and some other decisions of theirs besides. It's also about Sheppard's experiences in Afghanistan, his own original sin, where he feels he went wrong.

Revenant???

Revenant is the name of Queen Death's ship, where the majority of this chapter occurs!

The Last War,please!

They say generals are always fighting the last war. Is Jack O'Neill an exception, or not? O'Neill goes to bat with Nechayev, and Sam tries to figure out what to do next with the situation as it stands in Atlantis.

How about 'Croatoan'? I have some assumptions based on that word and the lost settlement of Roanoke Virginia, but perhaps they're wrong?!

Oh yes! As a North Carolinian, I know that story well. Colonel Caldwell and Daniel Jackson provide a history lesson in what happens if you leave your people hung out to dry.

I have a feeling that I know who it's about, but could I ask about 'Snow'?

Actually, it's about two things -- bad weather in their wintry island home -- and also about Guide's former queen, as uncovered by Jennifer.

*g* You get one! Son of the Ancients, since you asked for that one first.

In which John Sheppard considers making a deal with Guide, and Ronon investigates a deserted Ancient outpost. John is, of course, with his ATA gene, quite literally the descendant of the Ancients. And the outpost is part of their legacy.

the Things you Leave Behind please!

The title comes from the last episode of Deep Space Nine, about the things one leaves in a transition, whether death or just moving on. That theme is echoed through this chapter in several short scenes, Ronon and Mel Hocken, Sam and Lorne, Jennifer, and Teyla, John and Sam. What do we leave behind? What's the price? And when are we willing to pay it?

Guide's Play?

you have to tell me: he's written a play and has all the lords on death's ship act it all out. and he has a singing solo?

Sadly, Chris Heyerdahl will be unavailable for the musical episode of Legacy, so instead Lorne will be inexplicably taking all Todd's lines!

*g*

Ok, very, very bad Sanctuary joke! Sorry. *clears throat*

This is a really literal chapter title -- Guide is trying once again to pull something over on Queen Death, with somewhat limited success!

Somebody already had The Things You Leave Behind, so Collateral Damage for you!

This was a fairly literal one too, in which among other things the team considers how much collateral damage is acceptable to get Rodney back. Ok, they'd all risk themselves. But what about other people's lives? How many lives is Rodney worth? A Marine team or two? The whole crew of the Hammond? What can they risk? And as usual, can they trust Todd?

How about Compromises?
jo_graham
Jan. 8th, 2012 12:26 am (UTC)
This is a more quiet chapter, with two character scenes, one between Jennifer and Carson and one between Teyla and Sam. Both are about the compromises one makes with life, the decisions you make that you have to live with, with or without regrets.

may i have Interfaces
jo_graham
Jan. 8th, 2012 12:56 pm (UTC)
Interfaces!

Both Wraith tech and Ancient technology rely on being able to use the interfaces, with the capability of the operator determining how well they do. That's true whether it's flying Atlantis or flying a hive ship, accessing the mind of a Wraith cruiser or using a command chair. This chapter is about both -- and involves both flying a Wraith ship and accessing Ancient technology.

Well, it's probably going to be your favorite chapter! :)

In which Guide gives someone the Gift of Life, for very complicated reasons. It's harrowing. It's good. Yep. You will like this one!
