Lost Things vid

I know I shared this before a few months ago, when it first came out, but I wanted to share it again because I love it so much, and now a bunch of you guys have read the book. This is the promo vid that a friend of mine, the wonderful Emily Kate Johnson, did for Lost Things!

The music is the original version of Anything Goes, sung by Cole Porter and now out of copyright. (Torchwood fans will know this song from its more recent rendition by John Barrowman.) All of the pictures and clips are real and appropriate. If you look fast you'll see Mitch's car, the Torpedo, and a wonderful picture of biplanes over the aerodrome in the Veneto. The base that Alma remembers, the field where Gil and Mitch flew, still exists though in a much more modern form as Aviano AFB, now hosting two fighter squadrons of F-16s. In recent years it was one of the main bases for NATO forces in the Bosnian conflict.

So any questions about what's real or where we found things?

Well, let's see. Those are the real pictures of the archaeological dig at Lake Nemi and the ships they found. The car on the line "fast cars you like" is Mitch's car, a Hudson Torpedo. The biplanes over the aerodrome is from the Veneto, the field in Alma's flashback that's now Aviano AFB. And much more!

The research is so much fun! I can't tell you how good a time we're having with this. (We're working on the third book now, Silver Bullet.)
