Moebius Squared should be out in paperback next week. So that's not long. I hope you like Lost Things!

I cheated on the favourite character question, but after the fifth time I changed it I figured it was the only way I was ever going to finish this. ;)

Also, the favourite pairing answer is more due to the fact that I read Lost Things last, so the love is freshest; there hasn't been a single pairing I haven't loved with all my heart.

(hi, I just discovered your books a couple of months ago and pretty much devoured them, so I will take this opportunity to say thank you very much for writing them, you are awesome)

Hi! Thank you so much! I'm glad you're enjoying my books. That makes me smile a lot! :D

I love Alma and Lewis too. I wonder what you'll think of Mitch's interest in the next book....

Honestly, I love Mitch, so anyone who makes him happy is aces in my book. Plus, I've enjoyed what I've seen so far. :)

Oh good! I love Mitch too, and he's so much fun to write. He gets to hurt a lot in Steel Blues, though. We finally find out what makes Mitch tick.

I might add Hand of Isis to my reading pile. I enjoyed your take on Egypt in Black Ships and would probably enjoy a whole book about the culture too.

I'm glad you liked Black Ships! Stealing Fire takes place mainly in Egypt too. I'm kind of stuck on Egypt.

OH wait! Moebius Squared! Where is SG-1 going? Shocker -- Ancient Egypt! :)

Eventually I will read everything, but I don't have all of the Homecoming books physically in hand yet, so haven't read more than the first couple of chapters of the first one.

My head hasn't been in the right place to read Elza yet, but I'll get there :-)

Elza is definitely a head space of her own! She's the trickster, which is a version of this main character we haven't seen yet.

My little pet peeve: but I'm not a guy. Addressing me as "guys" and expecting me to accept that it's some sort of modern gender-neutral salutation is about as appealing to me as when folks used to defend using he/him/his as "universal" back in the 70's. It's a regression to male-default as the norm, and I skip responding to queries that start off that way for the most part.
Folks, people, peeps, y'all are all much better.

Seriously? "You guys" is a perfectly common way of casually referring to people. It doesn't literally mean men, and it's not generally taken to mean men. Of course you're free to dislike whatever you want to dislike, but I don't think people are going to stop saying "you guys" any time soon.

All the same things that used to be said about the constant use of "he" in textbooks, manuals, etc. Everyone was supposed to just know it meant everyone, and feminists should just lighten up. This despite studies that show male-default language affects whether kids draw men AND women when asked to draw police, doctors, etc.

I've only read your Stargate books thus far, but I'm planning move on to your others once Inheritors is out! I also cheated on the romance question, as Lorne/Cadman is isn't a canon romance, but I liked their poker default date in Secrets - of course they'd end up watching Rear Window!

I like Lorne/Cadman too, and I admit it was in the back of my mind with the Legacy books. Back in season 2 & 3 Laura's dating Carson, and also Lorne is a pretty ethical guy and he's her direct superior, so he can't do anything. But now she's back in Atlantis and she works for Carter, not for him. It's a different situation. If things went that way, no harm, no foul....

Oh, and also -- if you're thinking about my other books, I'd recommend starting with Lost Things. It's the same kind of strong team adventure as Stargate with the same mix of action and character, and the same kind of flawed but likeable good guys in a very accessible modern setting.

I can't wait to read Inheritors, and I think I'll check out Lost Things after that. It seems like the kind of story I would like.

It's very much the same kind of strong team adventure as Stargate. I expect you'd like it!
