Just for my birthday, a special giveaway! On this Thursday and Friday, April 4-5, my book of short stories The Ravens of Falkenau and Other Stories will be free to download on Amazon! Free! If you're a Stargate reader and you've been wondering if you'd like my Numinous World books but couldn't quite bring yourself to spend money, here's your chance to check it out for free. The Ravens of Falkenau is a novella, and so it's also short. So give it a try and see if it hooks you!

If you don't have an ebook reader, no worries. You can download the (free!) Kindle for PC app and read on your PC. So Thursday and Friday scoot over here and enjoy The Ravens of Falkenau on the house!

First off, Happy Birthday! :)

I am about 64% through this book and am enjoying it. I can see SGA fans who enjoy strategy and collaboration (like the Common Ground episode) liking the first story which gives the namesake to this collection. People who like Newton the cat might like How the Lady of Cats Came to Nagada. People who enjoy Egyptian aspects of SG1 might enjoy Horus Indwelling.

And, for those who miss the sale and see this later, hey, it's only $3.99.

I'll come back to write more after I finish the book and read through all your tagged entries for it.

Thank you! I'm so glad you're enjoying it!

The Ravens of Falkenau really does have a lot in common with episodes like Common Ground, because it is about finding that meeting place and about people who have every reason to distrust each other. I thought you might like Georg!

The Lady of Cats is one of my very favorites. It makes me smile every time!

Crap - I thought it was today that was your b-day. :( Happy belated! I got distracted and didn't check LJ until late last night due to a 7 year old with a broken leg.

I hope you managed to have a good day. --K
