Steel Blues -- Stasi

Stasi! Let's talk about her. What do you guys think of her? Who is she really and what's her backstory? What do you hope will happen now that she's sticking around Gilchrist Aviation? What do you dread? Should she be played by Claudia Black? I'd love to hear what you think!

She gave me the creeps, and I think inviting her to stick around was a bad, bad idea. (I don't know Claudia Black, but when I was reading, I was thinking Morena Baccarin.)

Can't wait to see how this plays out!

Interesting! And it's funny -- Claudia Black played Morena Baccarin's mother once!

I disagree about it being a bad idea. From the sections where we saw her viewpoint she clearly does have ethics, even if she's not perhaps 100% law-abiding. She strikes me as the classic robber with a heart of gold, who won't steal from the little guy who can't afford to lose anything, but will cheerfully lighten the burdens of the rich man.

I'll go out on a limb and predict eventually ethical improvement from being around the Gilchrist Aviation crew.

Stasi does have ethics. After all, she's robbing Henry, not Alma. She really had no idea that stowing away on the plane was dangerous. And she did find Mitch, which she didn't need to do at all. She could have just left after Alma found out she didn't have the necklace.

I also came away with the impression that her ethics about what she does with her psychic/magical talents are much stricter than the mundane side.

I think so. She doesn't defraud the Dead. And she does give Milward the Chef the message. Certainly she's competent. Watching her teach Lewis is interesting. Well, and work in other ways in Silver Bullet.

I like that she's a black sheep, a wild card. I suspect that she and Jerry will not have the best of relationships. He at least will be angry with her and hate what she stands for for a good while longer.

I wonder if there's something in her past that might try to devour her present? And Gilchrist Aviation with it? Will she actually join their group, officially? Though her somewhat mercenary nature leads me to believe that if a better job comes along (and once Alma's done paying her) then she'll be off again without so much as a by-your-leave.

I agree with the previous poster about Morena Baccharin.

Stasi is definitely a black sheep! You're right -- Jerry's not sold on her at all. Mitch, on the other hand....

I wonder if there's something in her past that might try to devour her present? And Gilchrist Aviation with it?

Right on the money! In Silver Bullet a former employer of Stasi's shows up, setting off a really dangerous chain of events.

I agree with the previous poster about Morena Baccharin.

That is so funny since Morena Baccharin played Adria and I see Stasi played by Claudia Black!
