It's May!

It's mid-May, and time for a monthly update about what I'm working on!

I'm hoping to have some very exciting news about the Numinous World to announce this week -- so keep your fingers crossed! Hopefully I'll be able to talk about it before too long!

The Numinous World short story anthology, The Ravens of Falkenau and Other Stories, should be out as an ebook in the next couple of weeks. It will be a trade paperback as well, though that will take a bit longer due to printing and shipping. I'm very, very pleased with the anthology and the chance to share some stories with you that I've written over the last ten years. I also wrote a couple of new stories just for the anthology, including one with Lydias of Miletus that I'm very pleased with. As soon as I have the link I'll put it up here!

The next book in the Legacy series, Allegiance (which is not my book!) is in the last stages at MGM. It should be out at the end of June, and boy is it a page turner! I bit my nails all through the last battle sequence even though I knew what was going to happen!

Avengers, the fourth book, which is mine, is in final edits before it goes to MGM for approval. It's scheduled to be out at the end of October. I'm very happy with how The Avengers came out. It's very much the Teyla and Sam kick butt book, with a lot of Wraithyness (whereas Allegiance is more the Genii). I have to say that Teyla and Sam together are pretty scary!

We've just gotten Secrets back with first edits, but it's going to be a while on Secrets since it's not due out until next February. Mostly cosmetic edits, and a few bloopers that are pretty funny, but better not to see the light of day!

Last week Melissa, Amy and I sat down to plot The Inheritors. We'll be starting on the last book in the series as soon as Melissa and I finish Moebius Squared.

Dear old Moebius! It got put mostly on hold this month as I scrambled to do something very necessary on a Numinous World book, so now it's back to how to get two Sams, two Daniels, two Teal'cs, one Jack, one Cam, and one Vala out of a terrible time travel tangle in First Dynasty Egypt! And Cam's lost his pants again. This keeps happening to him!

I'm also puttering with the third Numinous World book set in the Wars of Revolution, tentatively named Sword Queen, trying to figure out what the shape of the story is. Also, Lost Things, the occult thriller Melissa and I wrote, is still out for sale and I hope it will find a home soon! So lots more things to do! I've never been able to understand how anyone could be bored or have nothing to do. If I had forty more hours a week I'd never manage to get all the stories on paper I want to! (Well, and a good 10,000 words of Sanctuary fanfic this week, in addition to all the rest! Anybody else love Sanctuary?)

Here's hoping you're all having a lovely and productive spring!

Are you planning to attend Balticon Memorial Weekend?

No, unfortunately not. I wasn't invited as a guest, and I can't afford to go to cons right now otherwise. It's so expensive.

I would love to come, but I really can't afford to without being a guest. :(

Just thought I'd let you know: I was in London last Saturday and Forbidden Planet (the big scifi/comics shop) had several copies of The lost on their new arrivals shelf. I assume it means they think it will sell well.

Any chance there's something from Moebius you're willing to share...perhaps from Vala's POV???

"the third Numinous World book set in the Wars of Revolution..."

How many Numinous World books do you have? I thought there were only three, with an anthology coming out shortly and maybe an announcement about a fourth. Clearly I'm behind the times! :)

I have three more unpublished, plus the anthology coming out in the next couple of weeks! I've been looking for homes for the three, which include Lioness, set in Persia a century before Stealing Fire, and Fortune's Wheel and The Chariot, the first two books of a series set in the Wars of Revolution.

Teyla and Sam kicking butt = super awesome! ♥ Love it! I am SOO excited.

Strong female characters always need more love. Thanks for doing these wonderful women justice. :)

Thank you! I love Sam and Teyla, and the two of them together driving the book was an absolute pleasure to write. One of the chapter titles is "Three Queens", the third being Queen Death, and I think it's totally appropriate!

Sam and Teyla were a blast to write! I love them together.

You know I can't post a link to my fannish identity here! :) However, I think you've read some of my Sanctuary fic. If not, I will say that I have had a number of stories linked to in Sanctuary news this week: http://sanctuary-news.livejournal.com/ I'm not actually hard to find. ;)
