The General's Mistress Cover!

Here it is, dear friends! The cover for The General's Mistress, which comes out on October 23! You can click on it to make it bigger.

It's absolutely gorgeous! I think this perfectly captures young Elza, including the short hair and her expression.

I also find it wonderfully appropriate that even though it's a different publisher and a different artist, it mirrors the original cover for Black Ships. Three thousand years separate these two young women who are oracles, and yet they're the same. It gives me chills looking at the covers next to one another.

And it's so beautiful!

It's gorgeous. And I love the look in her eyes, you can tell there's intelligence and a certain sense of humor there.

I do too. That's definitely her. She's twenty, but she's an old soul.

Beautiful cover. Do you know who the artist is?
Jun. 1st, 2012 02:19 pm (UTC)
No, I don't. I know it's a staff artist at Simon & Schuster, but I don't know their name yet. It's gorgeous!

Have we seen the original cover of black ships? Mine has ships on it, but no woman and no harbor.

Here's the original Black Ships cover. Black Ships is the only one of my books with three entirely different covers!

Oh, wonderful. I love the original cover of Black Ships (and Hand of Isis), and this one looks brilliant, too!

I like it so much! And you can believe this is the same woman as the cover of Black Ships -- a different face but the same soul.
