I hope we get to see Rodney making something. Maybe not that trinium shield for John, but I have missed seeing McKay being brilliant the past couple of books.
Hm. Where to begin? I'm looking forward to the bit with John on his knees, of hiveships and horses, the two sisters that turn into three, conversations about the choices of women, and letters with reference to Peter, Paul, and Mary. I'm looking forward to Radek's musings on Teyla, Rodney vs Ember, John and Torren and the frogs, Jennifer finding Todd to be a gentleman, Teyla and Todd fighting back to back, Ronon's conversation with Mel about the nature of cats and people, and The Ending. :)
I think that about covers the entire book. And might possibly be spoilery in various vague kinds of ways. :)
I am most looking forward to the ladies of Atlantis—Teyla, Sam, and Jennifer—kicking butt! :) Plus, all the cultural aspects, legend and storytelling... everything! SO excited! <3
The manuscript currently at MGM is the SG-1 book Heart's Desire, which is supposed to be the next one out after The Furies. Secrets is next after that! :)
I really love stargate atlantis, and was heartbroken when the show ended. When the legacy series came out, I was all set on buying every one of them - until I read the reviews and realized that it was more focused on Sheppard and Teyla's relationship. It's not that I have anything against them, it's just that what really attracted me to SGA was the friendship and heartwarming banter between Sheppard and Mckay. Although I didn't buy the books, I have followed the series with great interest and recently I put an order to get the first book through my local bookshop.
I would really like it if I could see some Sheppard-Mckay moments, not in the romance way but in the friendship way : maybe John's guilt at not being able to protect Rodney, maybe some flashbacks to the two's best moments in the show? Also maybe when Rodney is about to unleash some big destruction upon Atlantis, he somehow sees fleeting images of the team and stops, and gets tortured brutally afterwards?
Um, no offence intended, I'm not trying to write your book for you! I'm just a fan wishing to see her daydreams brought to life on paper (yes, others daydream about being superstars, i dream of Stargate.)
Obviously I wouldn't know the ending of the Legacy series ( a tragic death, maybe on Mckay's side, sounds appealing, but then you'll have fans waiting to massacre you in the middle of the night at your doorstep - and in any case, the four are survivors: they have to SURVIVE!Together! On the same side!) but no matter what, I would think it would involve Mckay coming back to who he really is, whether or not the apocalypse is going to happen. Some more Sheppard and Mckay scenes, please? As an Atlantis wraith I need to feed on their friendship!
I'm really sorry if by any way I have offended you or acted as annoying as Mckay has. He's a bad influence on me.
I'm an absolute sucker for their friendship - the two can catch me hook, line and sinker :)
I really do wonder where the Teyla and Sheppard angle is going to...
There are certainly quite a lot of McKay and Sheppard friendship moments in the series. Obviously this friendship is very important to both of them, and certainly John's major motivation through books 2, 3 and 4 is to save Rodney from a horrible fate!
However, I do have to say that McKay/Sheppard slash is not possible. These books are official, and every word is approved by MGM. MGM is absolutely, totally adamant that there is no McKay/Sheppard slash at all! That isn't something they will allow under any circumstances.
But friendship, yes. And I think there's quite a bit of that!
You'll have to wait and see if Rodney dies a tragic death! It is certainly possible!
Basically love the books, dislike the whole Tayla/John thing. To me its starting to read like they are sleeping together, him playing daddy to her son, sleeping in her room, coming to her tent. It undermines Tayla as a character as she seems to be there less as a team member and more as the concubine that the people the team meet on missions think she is. Would love to see more of Ronon with real character development as he seems to have stagnated, oh I miss seeing Rodney with the team. Looking forward to lots of Sam though she rocks and Guide hes cool too. Am so sad there are so few books left and it will be months before the next one. though I would like to thank the authors of each and every book for their wonderful work its kept me very happy reading for hours on end :)
I can't say that I know everything, but I do know that her name is spelled T-E-Y-L-A. I can understand you not liking one aspect of the book series, but a naturally progressing relationship between Teyla and anyone shouldn't be a problem, especially one that started before the series even did. The creators had planned to put them together and then things either changed or they didn't get enough seasons of the show for that particular storyline to fully resolve.
I think that Jo is doing a wonderful job taking up where the series left off and giving hungry fans of the franchise stories that are both delightful and canon. Being in a relationship doesn't make any one character a "concubine." Teyla is not a "kept woman." For all intents and purposes with John and Teyla, she's pretty much keeping him. No one would say that this makes John a concubine of Teyla's, I don't think. So if you're not into it, my advice is to just focus on and enjoy what you do like. When I read the Hunger Games I got tired of the triangle going on in those books (mainly the last 2), but I still enjoyed them and I appreciate what the author did.
I hope you don't take this as me preaching to you because I'm really not trying to do that. It's just that I really like the Teyla character and I've always known and read her character to be decent and respectable, a warrior and a lady. So, for me, concubine couldn't be farther from the truth.

I'm afraid of another cliffhanger :). November is my mantra!

Btw, had You send the script of "Screts" to MGM yet? Maby this book will be out at planned time... ;)
Will we do the page game before release day?
*begging puppy dog eyes*

My apologies if this seemed a bit harsh,
