Moebius Squared

A reader asks, "I'm reading the Legacy series and loving it and I'm wondering if your SG-1 novel fits into the same continuity? Do I need to read it before The Inheritors?"

Yes, Moebius Squared fits into the same continuity. No, you don't need to read it before The Inheritors. Moebius Squared takes place just before Homecoming, late in 2008 during what is season five of Stargate Atlantis, about a year before The Inheritors. However, it's definitely part of the same continuity, with the characters in a slightly earlier place. This is particularly true of Sam. If you like the way we're writing Sam in the Legacy series, this is for you. This is how Sam got the Hammond and how she decided to leave SG-1 for good. The last scene of Moebius Squared, the epilogue, takes place during Homecoming while most of the team are in Atlantis off San Francisco worrying about the future, and there is a brief glimpse of Laura Cadman. Also, the plotline with the Ancients on Earth is related to the plot of Legacy, though they're not mutually dependent.

So if you've been enjoying Legacy, you would probably like Moebius Squared!

Can't wait!
This looks like its going to be awesome! I'm contending myself with Asimov while waiting. Already read through the entire Edgar Rice Burroughs John Carter series.

Re: Can't wait!
Thanks -- I hope you enjoy it.

I love the John Carter series. John Sheppard strikes me as very much based on John Carter, don't you think?

I'm still thinking. The John Carter movie ruined that image, I keep picturing Taylor Kitsch. Eek
