More Stargate Books?

A reader says, "Jo! Talk to me about Stargate! When will you know if there will be more books? What will they be about? Who will write them?"

I still don't know if there will be more. That's between MGM and Fandemonium. If they come to an agreement on the licensing, then there will probably be two more Legacy books. I hope to know something at the end of the month, but I can't guarantee anything. It's completely out of the authors' hands.

IF there are the two more we've been discussing, they would be Unascended (Legacy book seven) by me and Amy Griswold, and Endless (Legacy book eight) by me and Melissa Scott. They would take place a couple of months after the end of The Inheritors, during season one of Stargate Universe. That means that Sam and the Hammond are off battling the Lucian Alliance and Jack is on Earth. However, Daniel is still in Atlantis, where we left him at the end of The Inheritors. And yes, there will be Elizabeth.

But all of that is still hypothetical. We don't know what will happen with MGM and Fandemonium.

Would the potential books have Wraith in them? What about Blade of Atlantis?

Some Wraith, but they wouldn't be Wraith centric. Guide and Alabaster will probably show up, but the Wraith aren't the main antagonists. Which makes sense, as we just wrapped that up. Alabaster is off giving the retrovirus to her Wraith Worshippers.

Sadly, I can't see how to do A Blade of Atlantis without getting into things MGM has strictly forbidden. :(

I'm glad Guide and other Wraith would not have to be an antagonist in the potential arc. He can enjoy his family reunion in the meantime. ^_^

Reading more about Elizabeth's adventures and thoughts sounds interesting. :)

That's a shame about A Blade of Atlantis. Seeing Torren's future would have been fun.

Yeah, Guide is mostly doing his own thing at this point. This time the antagonist would be the Pegasus Asgard.

"Unascended"? Sure sounds like Elizabeth to me:) If you got the go ahead today how long would it take to write the books?

It is indeed! :) If we get the go ahead, there will be a lot of Elizabeth in these books.

How long. Hummm. Probably four months actual writing, but I'm slower in the summer because school is out. So give me six months on the first from the contract. Januaryish? And then probably four months later on the second. Mayish? Mind you, that's if MGM approves everything promptly. Needless to say given how they may not, I'm not going to start putting major hours into it until there's actually a contract! (However, I have written the prologue to Unascended. Which I like a lot. And yes, it's Elizabeth!)

If you get the contract would the list of forbidden subjects change? As I recall you mentioned that you couldn't do much with Elizabeth. I hope you would be able to address the Travelers this time.

We weren't allowed to bring Elizabeth back before. That's one of the main things we're trying to get cleared through MGM before we start. And yes, these books would have the Travelers.
