A New Year

A new year, and lots of things coming up!

First there's Silver Bullet, which will be out in February. I love Silver Bullet so much because I love these characters, and we got carried away writing it so it's turned into my second longest book, longer than Black Ships but not as long as Hand of Isis. So you will certainly get plenty of story for your money! I also think it's slightly better than Steel Blues, but that may be because I always love the new one best.

After that there's Stargate Atlantis Legacy book seven, Unascended, which Amy Griswold and I are working on right now. Currently we've split it up so I'm writing the Elizabeth parts and she's writing the team as their stories converge. It's a lot of fun to write Elizabeth, which I haven't really before in any Stargate novels except Death Game, and even in Death Game there wasn't a lot of her because it was mostly about the team in the field.

Once Unascended is done, Melissa Scott and I will start on Legacy book eight, Endless, which wraps up this two-book pair. I'm guessing Unascended may be out in the summer, ideally for Shore Leave in August, and that Endless will be late fall or winter.

Also in the late fall or winter, the fourth book of the Order of the Air, Wind Raker, which is already written and in first edits! The team goes to Hawaii and runs into an old nemesis and their most dangerous adventure yet.

I'm also considering a Kickstarter campaign to fund the Age of Alexander book with Thais and Berenice. I'd love to do it, but I can't afford to spend four to six months on something I don't know if I'll get paid for. (Could you? Work for four to six months without pay?) I know a number of authors have been very successful with Kickstarter, so I'm thinking about whether that would be a good idea for Sacred Queen.

Sometime in here I'll finish Serai, the sequel to Cythera, and I'm really looking forward to starting the fifth Order of the Air book, Oath Bound.

So lots of books in 14! All the books!

I would love to see the Age of Alexander book, and would happily buy into a kickstarter or similar campaign for it. I've bought into a couple of others, and they seemed to work out well. I've read several comments by people who have run them that doing a successful one is a lot of work because you generally have to keep pushing information about it out there or people don't notice it.

That's good to hear. I think it might help to have other books coming out so that I have fresh stuff to drive traffic? I don't know -- I've never done this before. But I did used to work as a political fundraiser. Surely if I can sell candidates, I can sell my own book?

I think the Age of Alexander book with Berenice and Thais is the one to do it with.

Well, I think it's better! :) There's no bad with Tesla, after all. And I love Iskinder and Jerry's adventure in NY.

Ooh, Unascended out in time for Shore Leave in August? Thats puts it out close to my birthday, yayyayyayyayyayyayyayyayyayyay!!!!!! :) :)

Always nice to have good books out to read close to my birthday. :) :) :) :) And if you do the Kickstarter, I agree with getting the word out on Twitter, I've seen a lot of campaigns promoted there, and have retweeted quite a few myself.

YAY!! I'm so glad that SGA is continuring on in books...I miss the shows, both SGA and SG1, something fierce. I'm also thrilled that Elizabeth is getting some play. That woman deserved a better end.
SILVER BULLET. YES PRECIOUS. I'm re-reading Lost Things and am falling ever more deeply in love with the characters.
Thanks for your monthly updates, btw. I really look forward to them and I appreciate how you take the time to read and respond.

I miss them too! And it's really wonderful to be able to bring Elizabeth back.

You're welcome! Thank you for taking the time to comment!

I just put a big piece of Silver Bullet up. I'll be curious what you think.

Stargate novels
Just wondering if you know of any other Stargate novels that will be published apart from the 7th and 8th Legacy (so glad you got the green light!).

Re: Stargate novels
The only one I know for certain about is an SG-1 novel called Two Roads set in season nine. It's being written by my good friend Geonn Cannon, and it's due at the same time as Unascended, so I'm presuming it's the next SG-1 novel. Beyond that, I'm sorry! I'm sure there are others, but I don't know.
