The next Order of the Air book?

A reader says, "I just finished Silver Bullet and loved it! When is the next one out? What is it about?"

I'm so glad you liked Silver Bullet! Thank you!

The next book is called Wind Raker, and it's in first edits now, so it will be out by the end of the year.

Silver Bullet ended on Christmas Day 1932, and Wind Raker picks up a little over two years later, in the spring of 1935. Jerry has finally gotten a field job again -- no, not in Egypt hunting for legendary treasures, but a first step to being able to do so. He's on a vanity dig in Hawaii looking for proof of a "crackpot" theory that the Chinese discovered Hawaii in the 15th century, a dig funded by an eccentric anonymous donor.

Meanwhile, Henry's friend and fellow aircraft magnate Floyd Odlum (remember him from Steel Blues?) hires the Gilchrist Aviation team to test his new seaplane, the Catalina Flying Boat. The seaplane trials will likewise take them to Hawaii, a coincidence that Mitch remarks means that there will be work put before them.

And how! A woman under an ill-luck curse, Jerry's mysterious dig, and an old enemy returning put the team in the biggest danger yet. And though they don't know it, this time their decisions will change the course of history....

I am very excited about this book! I've been a fan of the Catalina for some time, having seen one in an air show when I was a kid. And come on! Hawaii? Really? What's not to love?!

Can't wait!

Melissa loved writing the Catalina. She did the flying scenes, and they're beautiful. She's got the flying plot and I've got the magic plot. And oh boy is it tense!
